Hunter represents clients in diverse types of litigation, with a focus on employment litigation, and advises businesses and individuals outside of litigation on employment related matters.   Throughout his career, his practice has focused on employment law and has a significant depth of understanding and experience in that area. Hunter represents clients in federal and state court, as well as administrative agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He represents many municipalities and school districts throughout the Commonwealth in complex employment litigation, and holds a keen understanding of the unique issues that arise with representation of public workplaces such as cities, fire departments, and schools.  

Hunter also counsels employers and employees on a variety of employment matters including negotiating employment contracts and severance agreements; drafting policies and handbooks for employers; conducting workplace investigations and trainings; and advising employers and employees on far-reaching issues such as reasonable accommodation requests, medical leave, employee discipline, internal harassment complaints, drug testing, and health and safety in the workplace.

Finally, in addition to his employment work, Hunter represents business and individuals in a range of litigation, including personal injury defense and commercial litigation.

Hunter advocates for his clients zealously, and he also strives to represent clients with nuance and with an understanding of the human elements beneath challenging legal issues, particularly in the workplace.
