Attorney Michael J. Simolo, a partner at Robinson Donovan, P.C., will offer his extensive estate planning expertise to Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s upcoming seminar, “Ethics of Family Dynamics in Estate Planning.”
The seminar, which will be presented as a webcast and archived for on-demand access, spotlights familiar scenarios estate planning attorneys face when attempting to act on client goals while reducing potential family conflicts. Attorney Simolo will show his unique insight of the estate planning process, utilizing his knowledge of estate planning, probate litigation and business succession planning.
“While estate planning inevitably involves contemplating the unpleasant, the experience itself doesn’t need to be a negative one,” Attorney Simolo said. “It can be downright rewarding as the process leads to a better understanding of your assets, goals, and ambitions. In addressing potential problem areas, the best defense is usually a good offense.”
The topics that will be covered during the seminar include:
- Planning for the Complex Family
- Structuring Assets to Minimize Conflict
- The Attorney’s Role in Defining, Understanding, and Perpetuating a Family’s Shared Goals
- Minimizing or Avoiding Unintended Consequences
- Managing Proper Fiduciary and Entity Selection
- Ethical Considerations
- “Ask the Experts” Q&A Session
The seminar is set for Wednesday, June 20 from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. at the MCLE Conference Center on 10 Winter Place in Boston.
