Jeffrey L. McCormick Appointed Vice Chair of the State Board of Bar Overseers

The Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court have appointed Jeffrey McCormick as Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, effective July 1, 2010. Jeff has been a member of the Board since January 2007. The Board of Bar Overseers, which consists of eight lawyers and four non-lawyers appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court, investigates allegations of professional misconduct by attorneys.
Jeff is a member and former President of both the Hampden County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is a member of the New England Bar Association, where he served on the Board of Directors. In 2003, Governor Mitt Romney appointed him to the Judicial Nominating Commission.
A Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, Jeff is also a Past President of the Massachusetts Bar Institute. He has tried over one hundred trials to conclusion, and he has settled, mediated, and arbitrated hundreds more.
